On the front of my tooth, there's a little yellow color, but it's not a stain. I think it is inside the tooth but you can see it. I asked the dentist but they said they couldn't find anything wrong in the x-ray. The dentist also said that I might need a root canal later on, but he didn't seem too sure because the x-ray does'nt show there is anything wrong yet. It does'nt hurt or anything, it's just a little yellow section inside the front, but it's not noticeable unless you see it up close and squint a bit. What do you think it could be? Do you think it is serious? The x-rays didn't show anything wrong and the dentist told me to just get a root canal anyways, but I don't trust him because I think he just wants my money. What do you think?
What does a yellow discolored tooth mean?
Root canals cost a LOT, and sometimes if the plaster is not air bubble free won't hold up very well which means when it breaks it hurts, baddly, it also hurts to have one, MUCH worse than an extraction, depending upon the tooth. If they could find nothing wrong than I do not see a reason to have one, but in this case it amy not hurt to have a second opinion. It could be the very very begining of a cavity, other than that I have no idea. Good luck.
