Anything cheap everyday thing in the house that can help me whiten teeth?

I read that baking soda works but i'm worried it may have side effects such as tartar build up and such. What else besides baking soda?I need to whiten my teeth FAST. I used to smoke but I quit just a few months ago and now my teeth are yellow.I'd like a cheap way to remove the stains

Anything cheap everyday thing in the house that can help me whiten teeth?
Hydrogen peroxide.

Dilute 1 part HP to 4 parts water and gargle.

My dentist suggested this as a mouthwash instead of over the counter mouthwashes which he said contain way too much sugars.

Good for fresh breathe but lousy for teeth.

It doesn't taste as nice and gets a little frothy in the mouth but its a great antiseptic and whitener.

Plus a bottle costs about $1.20 from the drugstore and will last you a couple of months.

Cheers
Reply:Yes bicarb of soda will help, they put it in most teeth whitener solutions/pastes. I wouldnt recommend using that on its own i dont imagine it would taste very nice........
Reply:bicarb of soda or a dentist
Reply:My friend used AJACKS, Yes, it is a cleaing agent. She used a little on her tooth brush and a LOT of water. I tryed it , makes you want to vomit but its gets them a whiter from when you started.
Reply:crest whitestrips. They arent that expensive and they DO work.
Reply:Charcoal powder rub on front teeth with fingers ( grandpa's method)
Reply:use common salt twice a day, and after every two/three days fresh lime peel (squeezed out skin) use the inner side, still faster is asking dentist to polish the teeth... he will require 2-3 sittings, hope your teeth are strong to with stand mild vibration
Reply:Commercial tooth whiteners use hydrogen peroxide and

are expensive and inconvenient. A cheap and natural

tooth whitening home remedy uses few strawberries

but certain precautions have to be followed. details
