Why are my teeth like this?
This could just be the natural color of your teeth. Everyone has a natural color. FYI: the last person mentioned tetracycline....this tends to turn your teeth a greyish color and can only do this during the time your teeth are forming (so your mother would have had to take it while you were still in the womb, or you took it as a small child) Once all of your permanent teeth are erupted, you can use tetracycline without worry of any tooth discoloration. Also, the last person mentioned something regarding if the dentist polished your teeth: This is only a method used to remove surface plaque....your toothbrush pretty much does the same thing if used properly. When your teeth are cleaned professionally, they are removing not only surface plaque, but the calcified plaque known as calculus. This is often found underneath the gumline where your toothbrush cannot reach. This is why it is important to get your teeth cleaned every 6 months. If you want to try to get your teeth whiter...I would suggest trying a whitening procedure that is done in your dental office. It usually takes about an hour and you will leave the office your whitest. The one I have used is called Zoom. Ask your dentist about it!
Reply:Does the Dentist polish your teeth when you get then cleaned? Do you drink a lot of tea and coffee? That will change the color of your teeth. Medicines will too. Tetracycline will turn your teeth gray
