Will brushing after smoking prevent yellowing of teeth?

after each cigarette, I immediately brush my teeth so as not to stain my teeth. Does this work? Will it prevent the staining? I can't do away with cigarettes...it's not an option.

Will brushing after smoking prevent yellowing of teeth?
It will help, but be careful not to brush too often. More than three times a day or even brushing too harshly can take off your enamel. You should have your teeth professionally bleached. That can be cheap and last a long time.
Reply:girl you should try to avoid smoking some cigarettes but brushing your teeth after each cigarette might help
Reply:I don't think so coz the effects of smoking happen from inside through your blood stream(probably why people get yellow finger nails too) and probably affects the gum tissue. Brushing teeth probably will minimize the yellowing, though. You really really really should try to quit you know
Reply:no, the only thing that will stop it is quitting...anyone can quit too, you just have to have the will to do it
Reply:ask your dentist they can advise you best! im a smoker and luckly dont have stained teeth. i brush twice daily as normal and use a mouth wash as and when.
