What do you do when: your dog has lots of hard yellow stuff covering lots of back teeth?
This is very comen in dogs as I would be with us if we never bushed our teeth.

You do not need to change you dogs food. I don't know what that person was saying. Just call you vet and tell them that you need to make an appoitment for you dog to get his teeth cleaned. That simple. Also after that if you would bush them every now and then you won't have to worry about the getting dirty.
Reply:The same thing you'd do if you had it on your teeth---brush them! And if it won't come off, you gotta have the vet do it!
Reply:It's called a dental...take it to the vet right away. Feed her dental bones or switch pet food to a dental science diet.
Reply:Brush them with a toothbrush and dog tooth paste
Reply:brush em. Or take her to the groomers so you dont have to brush them.
Reply:Take him to the vet for a good cleaning
Reply:The vet will clean his teeth for about $100. A rawhide bone will help, but I recommend using the vet.
Reply:brush them,its like peoples plaque!!!
Reply:Take her to the vet for a teeth cleaning.
Reply:It is important to keep your dogs teeth clean. Ideally you would brush them every day, or every other day. Feeding a food meant to clean teeth is also benificial. Medi-Cal makes an Oral Care food, and so does Nutro-Dental care, and Hills has an oral care food. The food is made in a large chunk, that does not crumble when the dog eats it, so his teeth have to go in and out, in and out, of the hard piece of food. If you notice a lot of tartar on your dogs teeth, then you should make an appointment with your Vet for cleaning and scaling.
Reply:The vet has special teeth cleaning bones and also your dog needs to be seen for poor teeth. Dogs' health can be affected by poor teeth, because if they have bad teeth, they have trouble eating.

Some discoloration is normal in dogs' teeth.
Reply:Yep, bring her to the vet for a dental cleaning....I bring my cat in every other year for one. If you don't, when Luna gets older she will start losing teeth/get really bad breath. It's worth spending the money now to avoid this.
Reply:you can brush her teeth with a toothbrush, i do that about once every month for my dobbie, there teeth can get rotten just like ours....i just use a toothbrush and water (some what warm)....nice pic by the way
Reply:It needs to be scraped off at the vet. The dog will have to put under. Take care of it now before it gets worse. The vet will also teach you how to brush your dogs teeth.
Reply:it sounds like me that it's plaque - try giving the dog denta-bones to clean her teeth you can even buy a dog toothbrush that fits on your fingertip %26amp; special dog toothpaste at your local vet or pet store.
Reply:It's called plaque. He/she needs her teeth cleaned by the vet.
Reply:First, have the teeth cleaned professionaly. Second, only feed dry food...NO CANS!!! Gum disease can make a dog really sick.
Reply:carry you pet to the vet and have his or her teeth clean, after that it is goog to bruch your pet teeth daily.
Reply:take her to the vet to get her teeth cleaned and then you need to keep maintaining her dental health.
Reply:get your dog a dental. the vet can remove all this gunk.
Reply:Brush her teeth! There is special dog toothpaste at pet stores.

If you can't get her to hold still while you do it, take her to a groomer or vet who will do it.
Reply:First, you take the dog to the vet for a dental clean and scale, then you stop spoiling your dog lol and give it bones to chew on and raw muscle meat chunks not so much soft food.
Reply:Get the teeth cleaned.
