I just had bonding put on 2 teeth, but they're not as white as the rest of my teeth?

I've heard the only way to whiten bonding is to have it redone, but I just had it done and I don't think it's fair that I'll have to pay for it again. Maybe if it were a few years ago and they were stained, but it's like the dentist didn't match the color correctly b/c every time I look in the mirror at my teeth, I feel like I have 2 yellow teeth. Is there absolutely anything I can do to whiten them?

While all of the above solutions sound fine (contacting a lawyer and threatening to sue), 99% of dentists will be very receptive if you merely let them know you are unhappy.

Contact your dental office and let the dentist know that the color matching makes you unhappy. If he or she did not let you help pick out the shade beforehand, perhaps he/she can now.

Without seeing your teeth, this could very well be all that's required. However, it could be that your teeth that were "bonded" are severely discolored for some reason and it's simply too hard to mask them using the technique already tried. In this situation, you'll want to ask your dentist about other alternative treatments that may allow your teeth to end up with a better matching shade.

Good luck!
Reply:You need to contact your dentist and let him know that you are unhappy and ask him to resolve the issue. If he is telling you the only way to resolve the issue is for you to pay for a new procedure, then it seems like your only recourse is legal. You should have professional pictures taken now and you need to tell your photographer what you are trying to show in your pictures. These pictures may be very important so don't just let anyone take them.

Next, you need to get an attorney. Sorry. Possibley just a letter to your dentist will take care of the problem, but you might need more...

If someone fixed a dent in your car and painted it the wrong color, you'd be mad...you should pursue your rights... I'm not sure why the dentist didn't ask your opinion of the tooth bonding color before your procedure so that you had a color you liked. Good Luck.
